Outing: Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory

Join us for a morning shoot with the free-flying butterflies. The Conservatory also hosts a variety of tropical plants, birds, and animals, along with several water features. Witness butterflies emerge from their chrysalis and take their first flight, and don’t forget to take a walk-through the mounted and live-insect galleries. https://www.cambridgebutterfly.com
After our morning shooting butterflies, we will meet in the Chrysalis Café to swap stories and where you can get your lunch or a snack.

Please Note: Tripods can NOT be used in the conservatory – however you can use a
monopod. Flash can be used, but not on stands.
The conservatory is very humid and warm. February outside is often very cold and dry. This dramatic change in temperature and humidity will be felt by your camera and can cause condensation on the lens and sensor. Keep your camera warm – DO NOT STORE IN YOUR CAR TRUNK. Let the camera adjust to the temperature inside before you use it. Tip: put camera in a plastic bag at home and let it adjust to the temperature in the conservatory before removing it from the bag. Have a lens cloth available to wipe your lens if condensation occurs.
