DESCRIPTION:This year we will be participating in four CAPA (Canadian Association of Photographic Art) Competitions as a club.  For the second competition this fall\, the Board has selected the Black & White competition.  The club will select six images\, which must be from different photographers\, to represent the club. \n\n\n\n\nSubmit one digital image for consideration in the CAPA Black & White Competition. \nSee CAPA Competitions under the Competitions menu tab for a brief description of the image themes\, image standards\, and file naming conventions.  \nSubmit images online at  SUBMIT HERE.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun evening exploring photography. \nMember Presentation: \nThis evening\, HGCC member Rob Phillips will share how he makes his creative and fun images – “Combining Multiple Images to Create Something New – Digital Picture Composting.” Rob will present a number of examples of his composite images and explain the key elements needed for making them photo-realistic\, the tools to do so and some tips/tricks within Photoshop. \nInfluential Photographer: \nAdditionally an HGCC member will present for our Influential Photographer series Philippe Halsman\, an American portrait photographer. \nImage Share: \nBring or submit up to 4 digital images or prints to share in tonight’s share session.  Be prepared to tell us about your image.  For digital images\, please use the image standards that we use for digital competitions s these work best for our projector. Images must be resized to maximum 1920 pixels wide and maximum 1080 pixels high.  Therefore a horizontal image can be no larger than 1920 wide by 1080 high and a vertical image can be no larger than 1080 wide by 1080 high. \nYou can bring your images on a USB stick.  Come early to load them on the club’s computer for presentation.  Alternatively\, email all images to submissions@highlandglen.ca preferably by dinner time on Saturday Nov. 16. \n

DESCRIPTION:Bingemans Gift of Lights \nCome on out to get into the holiday spirit.  Each year Bingemans has a wonderful light display that is usually a drive through experience – but on a few special nights they only allow walking through the displays.  Perfect for getting photographs.  As an extra bonus\, 50% of the ticket price will be donated to a charity – for the night we are going the donation will be to the Family & Children’s Services \n  \nDate:  Sunday\, November 24 \nTime:  6:30 PM \nWhere:  425 Bingemans Centre Dr. Kitchener.  Enter at the conference centre entrance. \nMeeting Location:  Pond \nCost:  Online advance purchase $12.95 + HST; at the door $15.95 + HST \nAdvanced Tickets Link \nThere will be parking attendants directing parking.  There will be parking at the bottom of the hill behind Marshall hall and parking up top near Boston Pizza/Funworx.
