DESCRIPTION:This year we will be participating in four CAPA (Canadian Association of Photographic Art) Competitions as a club.  For the second competition this fall\, the Board has selected the Monochrome competition.  The club will select six images\, which must be from different photographers\, to represent the club. \nSubmit one digital image for consideration in the CAPA Monochrome Competition. \nSee the description of the CAPA Competitions under the Competitions menu tab for the image themes\, image standards\, and file naming conventions.  \nSubmit images online at  SUBMIT HERE.

DESCRIPTION:Architecture and Minimalism\nWayne Fisher is a professional photographer living in Thornhill\, Ontario and he will be joining our meeting via Zoom.  Wayne takes a fresh approach to architectural photography by dissecting the subject and accentuating the most important elements.   Wayne has been creating photographs for over 35 years and this genre of photography is where he feels at home.  Wayne will talk about his journey from South Africa to Canada\, his vision\, and his influences.  He will cover his photographic process including technical camera information\, use of composition rules\, the importance of light\, and post processing techniques. \nWayne obtained a National Diploma in Photography in South Africa.  His photographic experience includes event\, sport\, commercial\, and fine art black & white architectural photography.  Wayne  represented Canada at the World Photographic Cup 2020 in the commercial category. \nGuests are welcome for this talk\, please complete the Guest Registration Form .  We will be in contact.  The guest fee is $10. \nYou can see more of Wayne’s work at his website\nhttps://www.fisherphotoinc.ca/\nand his instagram account\nhttps://www.instagram.com/waynefisherphotography/

DESCRIPTION:Photo Critique:\n\nBring or submit up to 3 digital images or prints to tonight’s critique session.  Members will review images and provide constructive critique. \nFor digital images\, please use the image standards that we use for digital competitions as these work best with our projector. \nYou can bring your images on a USB stick. Come early to load the images on the club’s computer for presentation.  Alternatively\, email all images to submissions@highlandglen.ca preferably by dinner time on Saturday November 19th but no later than dinner time on Sunday November 20th.  \nIf you are submitting images from a phone\, we have directions on how to resize your image for an iOS phone [pdf].   For those using an Android phone\, directions would be similar; you could use the 3rd party app Photo & Picture Resizer. \n\nInfluential Photographer: Man Ray\n“My works were designed to amuse\, annoy\, bewilder\, mystify and inspire reflection.” –  Man Ray \nHow to Night: Editing Julie Style\nJulie Seiler will demonstrate the techniques she uses to get her distinctive image style.  Julie will use some of the Topaz original labs\, Topaz Studio 2\, and Nik Collections along with Photoshop and Photoshop Elements.  \n\n
