SUMMARY:Grand Valley Image Battle 2019
DESCRIPTION:The Grand Valley Image Battle (GVIB) competition is held every fall as an inter-club competition with other clubs in South-Western Ontario. \nWe are hosting the GVIB this year at our regular meeting location in the theatre in the basement of \nColdwell Banker – Peter Benninger Realty\n 508 Riverbend Drive\nKitchener\, Ontario\nN2K 3S2   \n+ Google Map \n \nThere is free parking and the building has an elevator and is wheelchair accessible.  The main entrance has stairs at the front and left sides; however\, there is a ramp on the right side. It is best to park toward the far right of the entrance or at the back of the building to access the start of the ramp. \nDoors open at 1:00pm and live judging starts at 1:30pm.

DESCRIPTION:This year we will be participating in two CAPA (Canadian Association of Photographic Art) Competitions as a club.  For the fall\, the Board has selected the Open Theme competition.  The club will select six images\, which must be from different photographers\, to represent the club. \nSubmit one digital image for consideration in the CAPA Open Theme Competition. \nSee the description of the CAPA Competitions under Competitions for the image standards and file naming conventions. \nSubmit images online at Competition Submissions.

DESCRIPTION:  \n \nIn the above example\, Tina extended the exposure time with a Neutral Density filter. \nHow did you enhance an image’s impact?  Techniques could include what you did in the field or what you did in processing the image.  Share with members your editing\, camera techniques\, composition\, time of day\, lighting\, filters\, processing technique\, etc. that made the difference between your good before image and your improved after image. \nWe will also make the final selection of images for our group submission for the CAPA Open Competition.  (Images were submitted November 11th.) \nTentatively\, we would like 3 to 5 image pairs per member.\n \nFor the digital images\, please use the image standards that we use for digital competitions as these work best with our projector. \nSubmission of images:\nFile name: To simplify image projection\,  please use the following naming convention.\nss-# [Before|After] [optional title] your name\nwhere:\nss is the set number\, from 01 to 05\n# is 1 for the before image\, 2 for the after image\nBefore|After clearly state if before or after image\ntitle is optional\nyour name \nFor example\, if Tina submits two pairs of images\, her images would be named\n01-1  Before Tina\n01-2  After Tina\n02-1 Before Tina\n02-2 After Tina \n\n Submit your images online by 9 am Monday November 18th (remember to login first)      SUBMIT IMAGES HERE\n Bring your digital images on a USB stick and leave them with Tina at the podium.\n If bringing prints\, let Tina know that you have prints.\n\n\nIf you are submitting images from a phone\, we have directions on how to resize your image for an iOS phone [pdf].   For those using an Android phone\, directions would be similar; you could use the 3rd party app Photo & Picture Resizer.
