SUMMARY:Outing: Basilica of Our Lady
DESCRIPTION:Interior and exterior of the Basilica and walking around the side streets in the area. This is a free event but donation boxes are there for those who wish to give. Parking at back of church. \nBasilica of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception is a Roman Catholic minor basilica in Guelph.  A Gothic Revival style building constructed between 1876 and 1888 by architect Joseph Connolly\, it is considered Connolly’s best work.  In 1990\, the church was designated a National Historic Site of Canada. \nThe church has a good description on Wikipedia. \nNo tripods inside the church.  Julie recommends a wide angle lens. \n

SUMMARY:Fergus and Highland Glen Interclub Competition 2022 - Images due
DESCRIPTION:In 2019\, we started a friendly inter-club competition with the Fergus & District Camera Club as an annual spring event with Highland Glen and Fergus camera clubs alternating hosting duties for the competition.  Each club enters 30 digital images.  This is an open category competition\, so any subject\, processing technique\, etc. is accepted. \nThe competition is intended to be a showcase of the achievements of the club as a whole and not just a few members. HGCC members can submit up to three images for consideration. The club decides on the images to be submitted and strives to have at least one image from every submitter.\n \nDetails of the competition and image standard are posted here.\n \nSubmit images online at  SUBMIT HERE.

DESCRIPTION:An evening in honour of Dan Gillespie. \nDan loved how AV shows brought members together. Help us continue this tradition and remember Dan by submitting an AV show to share. \nSubmit one AV show (in an .mp4 format) that is a maximum of 5 minutes long.   \nTo submit an AV show\, use one of the following procedures: \n\nIf you have your own file sharing system (Dropbox\, Google Drive\, etc)\, you can send the download link to submissions@highlandglen.ca and the moderator can collect the file.\nIf you want to send in a show\, send an email to submissions@highlandglen.ca and the moderator will send you a file request through Dropbox. The file request will provide a link for uploading the file.\nIf you want to run the show on your own computer\, you could share your screen. Please email submissions@highlandglen.ca and let them know you will be doing this.\nSince slide shows take a bit more work to make\, you can share a collection of images that would be shown as a slide show by the moderator.  Use procedures 1 or 2 to get the images to the moderator.\n\nNOTE: Unless you will be presenting your show from your own computer (procedure 3)\, please submit your AV show or images a few days in advance.

DESCRIPTION:We’re heading out tonight to capture the lights in Waterloo Park.  The Festival of Lights has been running in the park since 1993. \nMeet at the Wonders of Winter Arch located by the parking lot on Seagram’s Drive.  This is right by the Laurier-Waterloo Park ION station.  \nPlease socially distance when visiting the park\, and when that is not possible\, wear a mask. \nThere has been some interest expressed in potentially going for coffee or hot chocolate afterwards. \n
